Making the switch to full-swing coach Stewart Craig in the close season and making changes to her management and support team, including adding sports psychologist Brian Hemmings, the results were instant for Becky in 2009.
Finishing 3rd on the Henderson money list and leading Europe for total number of pars, birdies, eagles and number of top ten finishes - 2009 was a career best for Becky.
Her career-best 2009 season included finishing as the top European Tour player at the Evian Masters, being among the top points scorers at the 2009 Solheim Cup, winning the Spanish Open by six shots and nine other top ten finishes.
As well as being voted the ball striker most admired by her peers, Brewerton also won the Golf Union of Wales Professional of the year for the second time in three years and was nominated for the BBC Wales Sports Personality of the year.
With a great team behind her and the improvements coach Stewart Craig has made to her game, 2010 promises to be even better than 2009.
Statistically 2008 was another great year for Becky. Including a tie for 6th at the Women's World Cup of Golf in Sun City, which was a team event, she recorded nine top 10 finishes and was 15th on the New Star Money List for the third year running. Her best finishes were T3rd at the BMW Ladies Italian Open, T4th at the SAS Ladies Masters in Norway, T7th in Germany, England and Finland, T8th at the ABN AMRO Ladies Open in the Netherlands, T9th at the Nykredit Masters and T10th at the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open. She also played in her first US major championship: the Kraft Nabisco Championship where she missed the cut by one shot. Becky called it a 'strange year' and 'boring', however her work with Simon Coaker at Desert Springs in Spain early in the season helped her to swing more consistently. Becky identified two areas she was keen to work on going into the 2009 season: putting and fitness. She had an intensive putting lesson with Paul Hurrion and has been working on her fitness with Steve Bond.
2007 was a breakout year for Becky. She landed her first Ladies European Tour title in style at the Ladies English Open, in association with Golf Punk, at Chart Hills in Kent in July. In addition, Becky became the first Welsh woman ever to play for the European team in The Solheim Cup which was played at Halmstad Golfklubb in Sweden from 14-16 September, qualifying for the fifth automatic spot on the 12-woman team. Unfortunately the European side lost by 16-12 to the USA, but Becky made a superb debut, earning 1.5 points from three matches. Her first full point was earned alongside Laura Davies on the final morning when the pair defeated Natalie Gulbis and Nicole Castrale 2 up in the Four-balls. She also earned half a point playing against Sherri Steinhauer in the singles. Becky ended the year in 15th place on the New Star Money List with earnings of ?145,085.93 from 20 starts. She posted seven top-10s in total including a tie for third at the Catalonia Ladies Masters and a tie for third at the Northern Ireland Ladies Open.
Becky played in 15 events in her third year on Tour and posted five top tens and a further five top 20s. Her best finish was T4th in the Open De Espana Femenino and she finished 5th in the Ladies Open of Portugal and T5th in the Wales Ladies Championship at Machynys Peninsula G&CC. Becky tied for 10th in both the Ladies Swiss Open and the season- ending Dubai Ladies Masters. She represented Wales alongside Becky Morgan in the Women's World Cup of Golf at Sun City in January and the pair finished third behind Sweden and Scotland. Becky earned ?96,700.47 to finish 15th on the New Star Money List and 8th on the exemption ranking.
Becky played in 16 events in her second season as a professional with her best finish T3 at the Ladies English Open. She recorded three top tens and a further three top twenty finishes in total, in another markedly consistent season, in which she missed only two cuts all year. She finished T5 at the OTP Bank Central European Open and T6 at the Ladies Finnish Masters. In addition, she experienced a strong result at the Women's World Cup of Golf at Fancourt H&CC Resort in February, where she finished T6 with Becky Morgan, representing Wales. 2004 Highlights A remarkable start to her professional career for Becky where she finished second in the Ryder Cup Wales Rookie of the Year race, only superseded by the brilliance of a certain Finn named Minea Blomqvist. Becky was part of a tremendous crop of rookies in 2004 many of whom impressed with their skill, tenacity and friendly nature. Becky played in 14 events with her best finish a runner's up spot in Tenerife for the second straight year. She also finished outright third at the Spanish Open and tied for third at the KLM Open in Holland. Finished in the top 15 on another three occasions. Becky missed three cuts all season and had to retire from the Ladies Open of Portugal due to illness but it was still enough to see her finish at 8th on the OOM.
Becky closed her amateur career on a high and made huge strides into the professional world with impressive performances when she was invited to play in two LET events. She burst onto the scene in her first invitation of 2003 with a second place finish at the Tenerife Ladies Open behind eventual winner Elisabeth Esterl. Becky held the lead until the 17th hole of the final round when she bogeyed and Esterl birdied. In the Wales WPGA Championship of Europe, she almost pulled off a spectacular victory with a 70 in the final round but lost out when Shani Waugh holed from fully 74 feet on the final green to deny her becoming the first amateur in 19 years to win on Tour. Becky lost out on approximately ?55,000 as she was an amateur in those events but her future certainly looks promising. Her amateur record is exemplary ? Welsh Girls Champion 1997 and 1998. Welsh Ladies Champion 1999 and 2001. British Ladies Open amateur strokeplay champion 1999 and 2002. European Ladies Open Champion 2002. Curtis Cup player 2000. Vagliano Trophy 2001 and 2003. World Team Championship 2002.
