In the week Welsh golf star Becky Brewerton celebrated her 27th Birthday there were further causes for celebration.
On the back of a terrific season so far, which sees Becky in third spot on the European Order of Merit and only €59,000 off Sophie Gustafson in top spot, the Solheim Cup star also broke into the top 100 on the Rolex rankings, the official world rankings for women’s golf.
In addition, a season that includes victory in Spain and nine other top ten finishes ensured Becky claimed the prestigious Golf Union of Wales (GUW) Welsh tour professional of the year 2009.
Pictured with GUW’s CEO Richard Dixon, Becky beat the likes of renowned mens tour golfers Rhys Davies, Bradley Dredge and Ian Woosnam to claim the award for the second time in three years.
