Brewerton makes shortlist for BBC Wales Sports Personality of the Year
01/12/2009Solheim Cup Star Becky Brewerton has made the short list for the 2009 BBC Wales Sports Personality of the Year.
The 27 year old from Abergele, who finished runner up for the award in 2007, has been selected alongside the likes of Ryan Giggs following a tremendous season on the Ladies European Tour, which includes winning the Spanish Open by six shots, nine other top ten finishes and also playing a starring role in the Solheim Cup for Europe.
Currently in Dubai preparing for the final Ladies European Tour event of the season, the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters, Becky is delighted to recognised for her achievements and hopes she can go on to win event in Dubai and finish the season off properly.
Currently third on the Henderson Money List behind Sophie Gustafson and Catriona Matthew, Becky needs to win the final event of the season and hope results go her way to claim the coveted European Player of the Year award.
Preparations have started well with Becky shooting a five under par round of 68 to lead the Dubai Ladies Pro-am today.
