Following a emotional and physically demanding week in Chicago, Welsh Star Becky Brewerton returns to Europe among the top European points scorers at 2009 Solheim Cup.
Despite losing her final day singles match against Angela Stanford, Brewerton helped secure two of Europe’s twelve points at the team event at Rich Harvest Farms.
It was two stunning performances with foursomes partner Gladys Nocera that helped Europe get back into the match and go into the final day on level terms.
Despite Europe’s best efforts the Americans enjoyed a fantastic final day in the singles and retained the cup with 16 points to Europe’s 12.
Becky commented: “We were all confident we could overcome the odds and beat the US on their home soil.”
“Whilst naturally disappointed with the result, it’s been a fantastic week and whole experience has been thoroughly enjoyable. It would have just been nice to bring home the cup. ” added Brewerton.
It’s back to business as usual this week as Becky is one of, if not, the only Solheim Cup player to head out to Finland for the Finnair Masters in her bid top the LET order of merit this season.
